This summer we asked one our fifth graders to tell us about a book she read for the GREAT SUMMER READING CHALLENGE! Here is what she had to say:

Our friend Lydia wrote us a book review!

Hi, My name is Lydia I am 11 years old and am in 5th grade! This summer I read a book called Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. In this book a young boy named Brian is in a plane crash and has to survive by himself. There are lots of things Brian has to do to survive. One thing he has to do is build a house out of sticks! My favorite part of this book was when Brian tried to get the attention of an airplane coming by! I would definitely recommend this book. I think that ages 10-12 would like this book. Girls and boys would like the book, but I think boys would like it better! I like this book because it makes me feel grateful for all the things I have at home!
